Surge and Articulation are delighted to announce that we will support Moray-based artist Leah Christie to attend the renowned Street Performing Arts Summer Academy (SPASA) in Tàrrega, Catalonia. The renowned two-week course specialises in the theoretical and practical disciplines of street theatre performance.
Leah is a Drama and Performance graduate from Queen Margaret University and she specialises in directing and community arts. She is currently the Creative Facilitator at Aberdeen Arts Centre, a freelance theatre facilitator for Highland Youth Theatre and is the Trainee Street Theatre Director working with Out of the Darkness Theatre Company, Surge and Findhorn Bay Arts.
“I’m very excited to be traveling to Cervera on Sunday to participate in the SPASA residency. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to learn about various forms of street theatre and their creative processes, while also meeting people from different locations and theatrical backgrounds to gain as much knowledge about outdoor arts as I can!” – Leah Christie
