Are you a creative digital communicator who loves storytelling, community, and the arts? Articulation is looking for a freelance Digital & Communications Coordinator to join our team.

As Scotland’s development and advocacy organisation for outdoor arts, circus, and spectacle, we champion vibrant, ambitious artforms that transform public spaces. As our winter programme grows, we need a creative, organised communicator to help amplify the voices of the artists, festivals, and communities we support.

This flexible, remote freelance role provides a paid handover period with our current Digital & Communications Lead to ensure a smooth, supportive transition into the position.

Key Details at a Glance

  • Role: Digital & Communications Coordinator
  • Contract: Freelance Independent Contractor (Fixed-Term)
  • Duration: November 2026 – February 2027 (14 weeks)
  • Hours: Approx. 15 hours per week (60 hours per month)
  • Fee: £3,045 total fee (£14.50/hour | £870 per calendar month)
  • Location: Remote (with occasional event attendance by mutual agreement)
  • Deadline: Friday 2 October 2026 at 17:00

About the Role

Working closely with the Articulation Director and Programme & Membership Coordinator, you will help shape and deliver communications across our digital platforms.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Digital Marketing & Content: Creating and scheduling dynamic social media content, blog posts, news stories, and campaign materials that reflect our values.
  • Website Management: Updating project pages, event listings, and news items across the Articulation website.
  • Campaign Planning: Maintaining our Communications Plan for the Winter 2026 programme.
  • Collaboration: Working with the wider team to highlight member stories, sector opportunities, and live events.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking someone with strong copywriting and editing skills, hands-on experience managing social media and updating website content management systems, and a knack for managing competing priorities independently. Experience working within the arts, culture, or live performance sectors is a bonus, but a passion for creative digital storytelling is key.
