Articulation invites artists, companies, and organisations to take part in our MULTIFACETED Lightning Pitches — an excellent opportunity to present bold, original ideas to an international network of industry professionals.
MULTIFACETED is an industry afternoon delivered as part of Surge and Merchant City Festival . MULTIFACETED will explore multidisciplinary outdoor arts practice and programming . You’ll be pitching to an invited audience that will include directors, producers, and programmers from leading festivals, agencies, and organisations working across outdoor arts, site-specific work, and major cultural events throughout the UK, Ireland, and beyond.
Who should apply?
We are seeking 5 multidisciplinary artists, companies, or organisations with new work in development ready to be shared in an early-stage format.
What is a Lightning Pitch?
A Lightning Pitch is a short presentation where you introduce your project, artistic vision, and ambitions. You can include slides and video in your pitch – but the time limit for each Lightning Pitch is strictly 5 minutes maximum . The Lightning Pitches are designed to spark interest, conversation, and future opportunities.
This is an opportunity to:
- Share brand-new ideas with key decision-makers
- Build connections across the sector
- Gain visibility for work in development
- Open doors to future collaborations, commissions, and touring
- Receive a £50 fee to support costs of involvement

- A 500-word Expression of Interest, including:
- Project title and short description
- Artistic concept and vision
- Stage of development
- What you are seeking (e.g. partners, commissioning, touring, support)
- Key creatives involved
- Links to previous work (if applicable)
