This session will provide an insight into the creative processes and production considerations in creating Outdoor Spectacle. Aimed at independent artists and organisations looking to achieve a step change in the scale of work they create within outdoor contexts. The event will be split into two sections, where we’ll hear from Jen Paterson of All or Nothing Aerial Dance Theatre and Dan Adams of DATechnical.

Jen Paterson (Artistic Director, All or Nothing Aerial Dance Theatre) will discuss
their signature approach to creating aerial spectacle that animates and transforms
civic spaces. Delving into the creative processes, artistic planning and partnerships
that create strong foundations for successful Outdoor Spectacle.
About All or Nothing Aerial Dance Theatre
All or Nothing Aerial Dance Theatre are Scotland’s leading aerial dance company creating, performing, teaching and developing aerial arts throughout the country. Their work crosses the boundaries between the floor, air and the space between, merging aerial arts with dance theatre and contemporary circus.
Dan Adams (Director, DATechnical) will present an over-view of the practical and
logistical considerations involved in bringing large scale work into the open-air
environment. Providing an introduction to site considerations, event management
planning and licensing/permissions from a production point of view.
About Dan Adams, DATechnical
Dan has a huge wealth of experience working across all aspects of production and event operations. Having started work as a technician in the late 90’s Dan then moved into production/event management in the early 2000’s, a field he has worked in ever since. For the last 10 years Dan has led his company DATEvents who specialize in delivering large scale events in the public realm. DATEvents work across all artforms and have delivered events in almost every conceivable setting both at home and across the globe.
